Metro East Park and Recreation District
Event Sponsorship Grant Program

The Metro East Park and Recreation District (MEPRD) has committed $30,000 to the FY 2025 Event Sponsorship Grant Program. This program supports qualifying outdoor events that make use of, or promote the use of, public parks, trails, and/or recreation facilities in Madison and St. Clair Counties in Illinois.

  • Maximum Grant Award: For the FY25 program, MEPRD increased the MEPRD award maximum to 40% of eligible event costs (previously, 25%) and increased the maximum grant amount for 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations from $1,000 to $2,500. Therefore, any eligible applicant with any qualifying event type can now receive up to $2,500 or up to 40% of the event cost, whichever is less.
  • Eligible Event Types: The eligible event types were expanded as part of the FY25 program. In addition to events involving physical activity (e.g., walking, running, cycling, 5K, etc.), MEPRD now allows for events/programs that provide a public benefit related to protecting, preserving, and/or restoring the natural environment and/or the local wildlife within public parks, green space, greenways, nature preserves, or wetlands in the Metro East, including educational and volunteer events/programs."
